On 2007...

I went to a very interesting chat tonight at DST. One of the questions they asked was to talk about some of the good things that happened in 2007. It really got me sidetracked in my thinking. There were too many to list in that tiny fast moving chat window.

Aside from my semi-boring real world face to face life, which was full of blessings I will keep mostly quiet about... my scrapbook and online life has gone insanely well and I have had so many great things happen for me and around me. I want to share those here.

First off, I have had a chance to meet and work with some extremely wonderful people. For example, Sir Scrapalot. He has been an inspiration to me for some time now, not even knowing it. I admire him very much. Lots of foks don't know him that well, but I like to think I have gotten to know a lot about him and I just admire him more all the time. He is a father, a husband, a teacher of children, a grad student, and has a second job in retail. Now tell me, how does SUPERMAN find time to also share his talents with us??? And he is a genuinely kind and generous person to boot. So if he is reading this, I hope he knows I appreciate what he gives not just to me, but to the world in general. He truly makes a mark in his "space" on this planet!

I talk quite a bit with my friend Sherah. She is a fellow designer too, and we share a lot of our design notes... but we also share a lot of conversations just about life in general. We share a love of Napolean Dynomite too :) She has helped me keep my sanity in check on several occasions and really listens, which is a rare find sometimes.

I have a wonderful QP Team and Creative Team. They all are always so eager to work with me and they really encourage my spirit to just enjoy the heck out of what I do. The same with my blog buddies. I never imagined there were so many people in this world who enjoyed the same things I enjoy. The scrap community is full of so many people who are so generous with their time and positive energy. It's nice to know that at the end of a long day at my regular job, I can almost always come home and find an uplifting note, email, message, comment, etc. It really does make the days seem shorter and helps me to keep a positive outlook on life.

I am surrounded by very supportive people and almost all of them live inside this computer of mine :)

I also have a beautiful daughter who inspires me to laugh every day. No matter what kind of day she is having, she can turn on her "cuteness" like a light switch. And you mommies and daddies out there all know the amazing joy that having a child brings into your life. She melts my heart in the blink of an eye. And she knows just when to give mommy a good cuddle to make everything better.

My dear husband, well, he sure puts up with a lot of late nights, messy dishes, and "forage for your own dinner" nights. And he is pretty supportive of me following my dreams. And man he makes a pair of jeans and a baseball cap look real inviting.

So all in all, 2007 was full of some great things. Sure, there were a few rough spots. I have plenty of not so good days. But when I really think about it, the blessings outweigh the shortcomings by a ton. I hope yours was as fulfilling as mine.

Happy New Year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and your family. I too enjoyed the chat last night. There were so many people that I knew in there. The scrapping community is a very nice one indeed. I am always amazed at the busy lives most people lead. I'm just glad that I am out of the "rat race" ( over 40 years of working and many years of school before that) and can enjoy doing what I like now--not what I HAVE to do to earn a living.

Have a great New Year's Day and keep warm!!!
